This would normally cost $500 to do the Kiwi sailing school package, and through CYC it will cost $300. When : Wednesday Afternoons : 3pm - 6pm Term 4 commencing 26th Oct 2011 Sessions : 10 sessions of 3 hours : a full introduction to sailing a one person dingy. Due to the length of Term 4 this year, there will also be some sessions scheduled on Saturdays to make up the 10 sessions. Where : Lake Rua (near Chch airport) - Kiwi Sailing School NCEA : Students who complete the course can get 9 Level Two NCEA credits for learning to sail (full information regarding this is available on Yachting NZ website) on verification by approved assessor. Following "Learn to Sail" there is the option for sailing in a variety of boats - optimists, p class, firebugs, starlings, and lasers. CYC has ongoing coaching for junior members. Last year we had ex Olympic Games sailor and Olympic coach, Brett de Their coaching our youth sailors. He will be coaching again this year. We also had several of our youth sailors who have qualified as sailing instructors providing coaching.
